Odds and Ends

I’m missing the Mason’s Road launch party tonight. Boo. Why does Connecticut have to be so far from Cleveland? I don’t know what they have planned, but I like to imagine it involves lots of wine and cupcakes. Maybe some hummus. One of the editors is reading an excerpt of my story in my absence, and now I’m thinking I should tell him to wear purple and carry a cat to convince people I’m there in spirit.

My friend Amy designed the colorful kitchen tiles that appeared on Extreme Makeover: Home Edition (tiles at 25:30) last weekend. I love those tiles! Bright and happy and Pennsylvania dutch-y. Amy gave me a “Tree of Life” hex sign last year. It’s hanging in my kitchen. Sometimes, I really miss my Lancaster roots.

My Halloween costume this year was stolen from inspired by one of my blog posts. All I’ll say is that I’m currently wearing a dental floss/toothbrush necklace and pink fairy wings from the dollar store. Have a happy Halloween, everyone.
