AWP 2012: Three of These Things are True

Posted on 01 March 2012

1. I drank a Bloody Mary with bacon-flavored vodka out of a Mickey Mouse mug on the trip here.

2. I shared a cab ride to the hotel with a Very Famous Author.

3. Overheard man at the kickoff party say: “It’s not that I hate this conference. I just spend every second of it wishing it would be over already, you know?”

4. Had drinks, dinner and lovely conversation with our own Teri and Sherry…plus a bonus surprise guest later.

Okay, I’ll give you a hint about at least one of these statements:

from left to right that’s yours truly, Teri, Suzy, and Sherry.

  • Bacon flavored vodka sounds surprisingly yummy. Oh, and you girls ROCK!!!

  • Averil Dean says:

Suzy too!!! You are beautiful, all four of you!

  • Suzy Vitello says:

Teri flagged me down via a text as I made my way through the throngs to the ladies’. She’s amazing, that Teri. What fun. Wish you all were here!

  • Erika Marks says:

We wish we were all there too, Suzy–and Teri and Sherry and Laura!

  • lisahgolden says:

There are my people! Love you ladies.

I’m guessing the cab ride. The guy who was fessing about the conference needs a little perspective. Unless he’s staff, then I totally get it.

  • Hey, wait a minute! Didn’t you promise to Photoshop that picture? ;-) Thanks for being my bus buddy!
