Lit Mag Submission Workshop & Rejection Contest
January 11-February 22, 2017 (hybrid online workshop with in-person meetings on Jan. 11 & Feb. 22)

Ring in the new year with this hybrid online workshop and commit to submit your short fiction, creative nonfiction, and/or poetry to literary journals. An initial in-person class will provide an overview of the literary magazine landscape, common submission pitfalls, tips for smart submission practices, and more. Next, the course moves online, where participants will receive weekly prompts, tasks, or submission goals while cheering each other on in the virtual workshop space. A final in-person meeting will conclude the workshop. Bonus: Participants will be invited to take part in a friendly rejection contest. $65/$55 for members.

Use this workshop to troubleshoot all your NaNoWriMo challenges. From navigating the plot to developing characters to just eking out your daily word count, this is the place to share your concerns, your frustrations, your questions, and your successes. Come prepared with your in-progress  manuscript and a willingness to discuss your process with your fellow writers. The evening will also feature a timed writing challenge to encourage you to tackle that daily word count goal.
